A glimpse inside

What happens at Film Club

Our aim is to create a psychologically safe, autistic-neuroaffirming film screening environment. You can take part in the way that feels comfortable for you.

There is no right way to join in. Settle where you feel comfortable, move around if you need to and enjoy the evening at your own pace.

Arrive from 5pm

A volunteer will welcome you, show you to the room and give you time to settle in.

Free snacks and drinks

Snacks and drinks are provided free of charge. You are also welcome to bring your own.

At least two LAGC volunteers

There will always be at least two charity volunteers on hand to welcome attendees, explain what is happening and support the environment.

Short introduction

The person who nominated the film can explain why they chose it. A volunteer can do this if they cannot attend.

Watch the film

The film starts around 5:30โ€“5:45pm. You can move around, use sensory items or step out if needed.

Optional discussion

Volunteers facilitate a relaxed chat after the film. There is no pressure to speak. We finish by 8pm.

Nominate a film

Suggest a film and tell us why you chose it. If it is selected, you can introduce it yourself or ask a volunteer to introduce it for you.
